Day Off

For my day off I went to Brick Lane to the open air market and had a fabulous lunch.

At the Tate

The main turbine Hall had just closed the installation "Sunflower Seeds" by Ai Weiwei, the Chinese artist just imprisoned in China for his outspoken views, but we did get to see a great retrospective of Joan Miro.

St Paul's Cathedral and the Tate Modern

Lots of steps up to the top of St Paul's Cathedral, but great views to the Tate beyond

British Museum

Renovated by Sir Norman Foster, the Great Court opened in 2000.

The controversial Elgin Marbles on display prompt lots of sketching.

The City

We started our tour at Loyd's of London, the famous insurance house designed by Richard Rogers built between 1978 and 1986. Appropriately named the "Inside-Out" building.
